The Founder
Sondra McMindes has been the owner of Children's Therapy Place since it began in 2000. Prior to moving to Idaho, she owned Sondra Folley and Associates, a pediatric speech/language clinic in Brandenton, Florida. Sondra’s experience has been serving children with mild to severe speech and language difficulties, with a particular interest in providing intensive therapy group programs. Working collaboratively with occupational and physical therapists has expanded her perspective when working with children in the autism spectrum and with others who have sensory processing difficulties and augmentative/alternative communication needs.

Sondra received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from the University of Florida and her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Florida. Sondra is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and serves as the President-Elect of the Idaho Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA).

Sondra has been certified in Hanen and FastForWord. She has worked in clinic and rehabilitation hospital settings as well as skilled nursing facilities and public schools. Sondra served as an interim Clinical Supervisor at Idaho State University in 2003. She frequently provides opportunities for clinical externships to students working toward a degree in SLP.

In her time away from Children's Therapy Place, Sondra enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two young sons.
