What does IBI therapy look like?
IBI therapy incorporates a variety of therapeutic approaches designed to address the specific needs of your child. Therapeutic approaches used in IBI are research based and proven effective. These approaches address functional communication skills, appropriate social interaction and play, and tolerance/ understanding of routine events such as transitioning, toileting, eating, and dressing skills.
How many hours of IBI can my child access?
Children approved for IBI services can access 22 hours per week of IBI services for a total of 3 years or 36 months in his or her lifetime. IBI services are approved by the Department of Health and Welfare and reviewed every six months to assess progress and ongoing need for IBI support.
How long does the IBI application process take?
On average the IBI application process takes 3 months.
Where does IBI therapy take place?
Children’s Therapy Place offers IBI therapy at home, in the community, and in a center based environment, depending on the needs of the child.
